How to Download and Install Dr. Garbage Plugins in Eclipse 3.5 Galileo

1. Prerequisites for all 3.5 Dr. Garbage Plugins

• Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 5 or higher; Java 6 is recommended for Bytecode Visualizer 3.5 and 3.4SR1 (see here why).
• Eclipse 3.5 Galileo (there is another Guide for Eclipse 3.4 Ganymede)
• Graphical Editing Framework (GEF) 3.5 or higher. GEF is an Eclipse Plugin. It is usually installed automatically by Eclipse Update Manager when neccessary.
• Direct internet access or valid proxy configuration (see: Eclipse Proxy Configuration Guide)
• A valid user account at http://www.drgarbage.com. You may wish to create a new account if you do not have one yet.

2. Start Eclipse Update Manager

Help > Install New Software...

3. Add New Update Site

Paste

http://www.drgarbage.com/3.5/stable

into the "Add Site" dialog.

4. You will be prompted for user name and password of your account at drgarbage.com

Please create a new account for yourself, if you do not have one yet.

Dr. Garbage recommends to activate the "Save password" checkbox.

5. Select plugins/features, which you would like to install

6. Review and confirm the installation

Note: Eclipse Update Manager can automatically select some additional features, which are required by Dr. Garbage plugins.

7. Read and accept the licence agreements

Click "Finish" to install the plugins.

8. Restart Eclipse after the plugins have been installed

9. Install license keys

You will need a valid license key for every Dr. Garbage plugin. You will be asked to obtain the license key when you use the plugin for the first time. The process is normally quite straightforward and self-explanatory. In case of any problems, please visit the License Key Installation Guide.
