If you have installed both Bytecode Visualizer 2008 and Bytecode Visualizer LT 2008 you probably want to evaluate a free trial of Bytecode Visualizer 2008 first. In such a case, please follow The First Steps with Bytecode Visualizer 2008.
We recomend this beacuse Bytecode Visualizer 2008 offers much more functionality which would stay invisible for you if you start with Bytecode Visualizer LT. You may get back to this document anytime in the future.

1. Licensing

Bytecode Visualizer LT 2008 is a free. You do not need to buy a license to use it.

2. File Associations

There are many situations in which Eclipse opens a *.class file: CTRL-Clicking into a class/method/field without source code, Stepping into in Debugger, etc. In such situations, Eclipse is using the default editor for the *.class file type.

Bytecode Visualizer LT is not set as default editor for *.class files during the installation. So, you probably want to adjust the File Associations in Preferences:

Window > Preferences > General > Editors > File Associations

Select the file type *.class and set Bytecode Visualizer LT as Default
